Thanks to the use of suction belts, it is not normally necessary to equip a feed board. However, in certain cases it may become necessary to use transport rollers, rotating brushes or ball guides etc. The bar grate is detachable and comprises adjustable guide rods on which the individual elements can be arranged as required.
Sheet separating elements
Sheet separating brushes are used for stabilisation during fan-style pre-separation and preparation of the upper sheets before they are lifted off with the separator suckers. Alongside the sheet separating brushes, additional sheet separating elements are also used here such as stripper springs, spring clips or fan-shaped sheets.
Feed board
The feed board transports the sheets to the frontlay. The feed board can be a suction feed board or a roller feed board. In order to prevent the sheets from striking the frontlay with too much force, the suction power can be regulated as a function of the transport speed. Here, the belts can be driven in such a way that they cause a sinusoidal deceleration of the sheets.
Sheet feeder
The sheet feeder is a device that separates stacked sheets and feeds them to a machine for further processing.Key areas of use for MABEG sheet feeders include offset, gravure and screen printing machines, as well as special machines for the production of banknotes or exercise books. MABEG sheet feeders are also used with varnishing, laminating, die cutting, foil stamping, folding and metal decorating machines or in visual testers, non-impact printing machines or automatic folding box machines, banderoling and gathering machines and in a number of non-printing industries, e.g. in pulp mills or veneer...
Trigger foot
The trigger foot sets down once per cycle on the trailing edge of the uppermost sheet and controls the readjustment of the stack as the height of the material stack is reduced.
Eccentric shaft
The eccentric shaft is a type of camshaft that translates various motion mechanisms of the suction head via the shape of the (eccentric) cams. The levers control the separation (separator sucker) and transportation (forwarder sucker) of the sheet, as well as the stack control of the trigger foot.
Driven rotating brushes
In certain situations it is necessary to extend the effective range of the transport rollers. This is done with the aid of directly connected rotating brushes.
Suction cups / suction discs
The corresponding suction discs are selected and used depending on the properties of the material to be processed. For example, special suction cups need to be used for the processing of lightweight papers.
Suction head
A suction head (also referred to as a sheet separator) is an assembly in the sheet feeder of a sheet processing machine (e.g. offset, gravure and screen printing machines, as well as varnishing, laminating, die cutting, foil stamping, folding and metal decorating machines).A suction head in the classical sense (MABEG ClassicFeed) has an enclosed control system (controller drum) that controls all cycles – such as bottom blowing (carrier air), separation and transportation of the uppermost sheet – during each revolution. During sheet separation, the uppermost sheet...
Forwarder suckers
The forwarder suckers take the separated sheet and transport it further towards the machine for further processing. In order to ensure a stable sheet transfer, the forwarder suckers are capable of correcting the sheet position if it is not straight. Depending on the variant the height of the forwarder suckers can be adjusted via a Bowden cable.
Sheet stops
The sheet stops hold the sheets while they are being pre-separated by the pre-blowers.
Controller drum
The controller drum is an enclosed control system in the MABEG ClassicFeed suction head that controls all cycles – such as bottom blowing (carrier air), separation and transportation of the uppermost sheet – during each revolution.
Carrier blowers / pre-blowers
Carrier blowers blow air underneath the sheet that is lifted off by the separator sucker and maintain a constant air cushion underneath. Sheet separation between the individual layers on the side and at the rear is performed with pre-blowers, fan blowers and separator blowers in a fan-shaped layout.
Transport rollers
If it is not possible to ensure safe transportation via the suction belts of the feed board, transport rollers ensure timely arrival of the sheets at the machine for further processing.
Separator suckers
The uppermost sheet of the stack is lifted off by separator suckers via vacuum suction. In order to ensure stable sheet transfer, the position of the separator suckers can be changed to suit the properties of the material.
